One of the more pleasureable experiences of the last Classic American Guitar Show in New York was meeting and enjoying the playing of Joe Giglio. He got on the courtyard stage and ripped through a selection of standards demonstrating a solid grasp of the dying art of straight ahead jazz guitar and this, his first CD could be a live recording of that session. Here Joe's team plays a selection of originals and standards 'live in the studio' to give a true account of the group's abilities. A great marketing aid for the trio I am sure. What I wasn't aware of was Joe's vocal talent. His smooth Chet Baker inspired renditions of 'But Not For Me' and 'Time AFter Time' and the solo guitar features 'Embraceable You' and 'There will Never Be Another You' are welcomed contrasts which help to produce a well balanced program. A strong debut release by one of tomorrow's stars."
